Although there is a long holiday in October, under the background of hot production and sales of new energy vehicles, the trend of the installed capacity of power batteries has not changed, and the installed capacity of the whole year is still firmly moving towards 150GWh.

According to data from the Power Battery Application Branch, in October this year, the installed capacity of power batteries in the Chinese market was about 17.86GWh, a year-on-year increase of 147.6%; the installed capacity from January to October was about 113.11GWh, a year-on-year increase of 173.3%. Considering that although there is a long holiday in October, the installed capacity has increased by 12.6% compared with September. At the same time, referring to the experience of previous years, November and December will maintain a relatively high growth rate. It is expected that the sales of new energy vehicles and the installed capacity of power batteries will be maintained in November and December. The volume performance will remain strong, and the annual installed capacity of 150GWh is a high probability event.

In terms of battery types, the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries in October was about 10.25GWh, the installed capacity of ternary batteries was about 7.59GWh, and the installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries exceeded that of ternary batteries for 4 consecutive months; from January to October, The installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery is about 55.63GWh, and the ternary battery is about 57.28GWh. The gap between lithium iron phosphate and ternary battery is only 1.65GWh. It is estimated that by the end of November, the total installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate battery in the first 11 months of this year It will exceed the ternary battery.

In terms of new energy vehicle sales, from January to October, the sales of new energy vehicles were approximately 2.542 million units, a year-on-year increase of 176.6%; the annual sales of new energy vehicles in the Chinese market are expected to exceed 3.1 million units.

In terms of the ranking of installed capacity of power batteries in the Chinese market, the TOP15 has been relatively stable, with little changes this year. However, there are still some companies that have begun to make efforts in recent months to stir up the TOP10 lineup.
