In response to the low temperature use of electric vehicles, at the meeting, Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, emphasized that first, we must attach great importance to it. The issue of low-temperature use of electric vehicles is related to the vital interests of consumers. It must be attached great importance to and carefully solved. Automobile companies must strengthen after-sales service and timely solve user demands. Industry organizations must strengthen popular science propaganda and guide consumers to use them correctly. Second, we must take practical measures to solve the problem. Vehicle and battery companies should strengthen technical research, improve the low-temperature driving performance of electric vehicles, and improve user experience. Universities and research institutions should strengthen research on basic common technologies to provide strong support for industrial development. The third is to further strengthen supervision. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology should organize relevant units to formulate technical specifications, accelerate the promotion and application of Chinese working conditions (CATC), clarify the performance and technical requirements of low-temperature environment products, and strengthen product access and production consistency checks.
It is reported that CATC's full English name is "China Automotive Testing Cycle", and Chinese is "China Automotive Testing Cycle", which is a road test standard formulated according to the actual situation in China.
According to previous media reports, CATC will increase the experiment of turning on the air conditioner at high and low temperature (high temperature 30±2°C, low temperature -7±3°C) to more objectively reflect the energy consumption of pure electric vehicles. Compared with the current NEDC (European standard) practice of turning off non-essential electrical appliances (that is, turning off air conditioners, headlights and other electrical appliances) during energy consumption testing, CATC can better reflect the real energy consumption level of vehicles.
Battery China.com learned that as a recommended national standard, the CATC standard has been officially implemented on May 1, 2020. The standard will be gradually introduced before 2025 and implemented after 2025. Therefore, with the introduction of the CATC standard, and it is expected to become a mandatory standard in the future, it is expected to bring many challenges to car companies and battery companies, and the vehicle cruising range standard is also expected to be greatly affected.
In addition, according to the national standard GB/T 18386, the working condition method (refer to the NEDC cycle) and the constant velocity method (vehicle speed requirement of 60±2km/h) can be used for the energy consumption test of pure electric vehicles. Among them, the constant speed method is a theoretical working condition, which is completely inconsistent with the actual vehicle working conditions. The cruising range of pure electric vehicles tested by it will be closer to the theoretical limit value, which is of little reference for consumers, but often It will be used by some manufacturers as a publicity stunt, one-sidedly exaggerating the cruising range of the product. For this reason, the isokinetic method has been removed from the CATC.
